N.M.B.S. Challenge #15

Scallop Flowers
This week's NMBS blog challenge is hosted by Maggie. She posted a fantastic sketch challenge for us this week. Just like Maggie, I love sketch challenges.
Here is the card I created for the challenge. I used the Washington Apple DSP (in the new Fall/Winter Stampin' Up! catalog) and the coordinating colors of cardstock. I used the scalloped circle punch and my paper snips to create the flowers. Don't you just love how these cute flowers turned out?

Recipe:

Paper: Washington Apple DSP, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red
Access: Jumbo Pewter Eyelets, Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensional Adhesive
Tools: Crop-A-Dile, 3/4" Circle Punch, Scalloped Circle Punch, Paper Snips

Beate's Weekend Challenge

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge was perfect and so much fun. I am designing cards this weekend for my upcoming classes and for my swaps. My card uses the new Ghostly Greetings DSP from the F/W catalog, and a new set from the Holiday Mini.

Domino Inspiration

I love the magazine "Domino" so much and today on SCS the inspiration challenge was to use a room from the Domino photo galleries for inspiration. It was very hard to choose from the 50 rooms but I chose to use this room for my inspiration. I love the crisp, clean look of the room.
Here is the card I created. I used an older, but still current, favorite set , Baroque Motifs. I stamped the large swirl background using Baja Breeze ink onto Baja Breeze cardstock to give that tone on tone look (notice the wall of the room, it has this behind the pictures). Then the other images are stamped and the baja breeze medallion is cut out and popped up using dimenisonals. The center image is stamped in basic black and punched out using the 1/2" circle punch and is popped up using dimensionals and has a sweet little rhinestone brad in the center.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Hugs & Wishes
Paper: Basic Black, Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Baja Breeze
Access: White Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensional Adhesive, Lt. Blue Rhinestone Brad
Tools: 1/16" Hole Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Paper Snips

N.M.B.S. Challenge #14

It was my weekend to host the challenge on the N.M.B.S. group blog. My challenge was to use paper piecing on your card. It is a great way to add interest to the stamped image. My sample uses Sweet Always DSP. This is a card I created for the last N.M.B.S. New F/W set swap.

Not sure how to do this? Paper Piecing 101: Stamp your image on the card stock first, then onto your DSP. Cut out the image you stamped to paper piece on the DSP on the outside of the stamped lines so you still see the lines. Apply adhesive to the back of the cut out images and place over the stamped image on your card stock. Complete your card, by coloring in additional images, and adding embellishments.

Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes
Paper: Sweet Always DSP, Regal Rose, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Brown
Accessories: Barely Banana Brad, Markers: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Rose 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensional Adhesive
Tools: Scor-Pal (created scored grid backgound on Chocolate Chip layer), Three for you Punch, 1/16" hole punch, Key Tag Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, Paper Snips

Celebrating Denise as Featured Stamper

Congrats to Denise!!
Denise (aka card crazy) on SCS was selected as Featured Stamper today. The challenge is to go to her gallery and choose a card to CASE and change at least 2 things when you create your card.

So here is the card I created for the challenge today. It is a pocket card, measuring 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" finished. I took an 8-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of cardstock and scored at 1-1/4", and 4" from the left side, then folded on the score lines and secured the ends with sticky strip and brads to form the pocket. I loved using some of my favorite colors for fall.
