Technique Monday

After a busy weekend at the dance competition, doing laundry, cooking, cleaning and stamping a challenge card here and there. It is finally Monday, and everyone is out of the house and I can get my cards posted.

Today's challenge technique is paper tole... where the same image is stacked to provide dimension to the key features. The catch with today's challenge is NO FLOWERS allowed. Stamp the main image 3 times and cut out detail areas and use dimensional adhesive to pop up.

I took the bashful blue ink pad and rubbed it over the paper to create a washed-looking background, I then stamped the entire image onto the paper. I stamped the images two more times on scrap white paper and colored all the images in using SU! markers (Going Gray (tires), Mellow Moss (truck), Brocade Blue, Regal Rose, So Saffron). I cut out one entire image and mounted it with dimensional adhesive on top of the first stamped image, then cut out several features from the 3rdstamped image to add extra dimension. I chose the fender, the window, the lady, and 3 of the gifts. This was so much fun, I love to cut and this was my stamping therapy for the day!

RECIPE:
Stamps: Loads of Love, Loads of Love Accessories
Paper: Mellow Moss, Brocade Blue, Regal Rose, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Bashful Blue,
Accessories: SU! Markers, Paper Snips, Dimensional Adhesive, Rounded Tab Punch, Ticket Corner Punch, 1/16" Hole Punch, Silver Brads, Staple, Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon

Why Did I Buy That?

Friday's Limited Supplies Challenge
We were to use something that we bought or was given and didn't know why we bought it. This is the perfect example of that. I loved the crystal brads that I found at a LSS and bought every color. Only to find that the SU! Rhinestone brads colors are better, the ones I bought got lost in my embellishments drawer. So I dug them out to add to this card.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Ginormous Flowers, Stem Sayings
Paper: Real Red, Old Olive, Soft Sky, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive, Soft Sky
Accessories: 5 Petal Flower Punch, 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon, Non SU! Crystal brads, Dimensional Adhesive, 1/8" Hole Punch

Happy Easter!

Stamping goes with everything!
I have been busy over the past couple of days getting everything ready for today. I am making dinner for 12 today, mostly family and a couple adoptees. I always have extras when their is homemade dinner, lol.
Basket Tag for my son's Easter basket.
I used the On Board Simon Upper chipboard, covered it with Certainly Celery Prints DSP, used my SU! craft & hobby blade to trim paper, used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole. I also punched 3 stars, using my large star SU! punch, from Celery cardstock, punched holes in each and strung pieces on Celery grosgrain ribbon. I added my own handwriting to each.

Basket Tag for my daughter's Easter basket.
The same as my son's except I covered the chipboard letter with Flowers For You DSP, punched out 3 flowers using my SU! 5 Petal Flower Punch, and strung it on Pretty in Pink Grograin Ribbon. I added my own handwriting to each flower.

I made these cute little treat holders (inspired from Beate's tutorial on SCS) for each place setting at the dinner table.

Stamps: A Good Egg
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Lavender Lave, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: Regal Rose, Basic Black
Accessories: Scalloped Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Slit Punch, Celery Ribbon, White Gel Pen, Dimensional Adhesive, Velcro

Cupcake Topper made using the Good Egg Set and added some Stickles for sparkle. This is the centerpiece for the food serving table!! But you have to eat dinner first, then you can have a cupcake!!

Seaside Blooms

Today is Inspiration Challenge over at SCS. My favorite of all the challenges they host. The inspiration piece is this beautiful seaside bracelet.

I stamped the images in Basic Gray, and used the Aqua Painter to watercolor the flowers with Soft Sky and Blue Bayou. I used the silver brads to bring in the silver from the bracelet. I have been wanting to use this new set and today was the day. Finished size of card is 4-1/2" square.

I have another card to share today, this one is for the Try a New Technique on SCS. I have been wanting to use my Cuttlebug and today was the perfect challenge. Use a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, and on the negative side, ink it up with whatever color or type of ink you want, then put your cardstock in and run it through the Cuttlebug. Viola, a great background is created. Here is my card I designed for today's challenge:
