Ink: Groovy Guava
Access: Gold Brads, Dimensional Adhesive, Groovy Guava Ribbon

No More Bad Swaps Group Swap

I am happy to be a member of the NMBS (No More Bad Swaps) Group. This is a group of ladies that are excellent stampers and were tired of getting swaps that were just so-so. They wanted an upper level of swaps in return and thus this group was formed. I received an invitation from Beth, the swap coordinator to join and I graciously accepted. This was the first swap that I participated in and it was for full card specialty cards. I signed up for 2 groups. The cards I got in return were absolutely gorgeous and perfect in every way.

My first card is a Criss-Cross Card that I created using one of my favorite color combos - Soft Sky and Blue Bayou.

RECIPE:
Stamps: One of a Kind, Boho Backgrounds
Paper: Blue Bayou, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Blue Bayou DSP
Ink: Blue Bayou, Groovy Guava, Soft Sky
Access: Silver Brads, Blue Bayou Ribbon, Dimensional Adhesive, Glue Dots
Tools: Scalloped Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Rounded Tab Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch

**********************************************************************************
My second card is a Surprise Pop-Up Card. I chose the color combo based on the Flower Fusion colors as I knew I wanted to use these felt flowers as an embellishment for the front on the card.
Here is the card closed

Here is the card open

RECIPE:

Stamps: Polka Dot Background, Fun & Fast Notes, Curvy Verses
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Rose Red, Whisper White, Rose Red DSP Prints
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black
Access: SU! Markers, Flower Fusion, Brads, Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Staples, Glue Dots, Dimensional Adhesive
Tools: Trimmer/Scorer, Photo Corners Punch, Stapler, 3/4" Circle Punch

No Hardware Challenge

Limited Supplies Challenge
Today's challenge on SCS was to use stamps instead of hardware (brads, eyelets, buttons, etc.) on your card. Here is the card I created for the challenge. I used the small star from In The Stars set, stamped it with Bashful Blue onto Whisper White and used the 1/2" Circle Punch and punched each one out. I then flat mounted them along the bottom of my card instead of putting three brads or buttons there. The saying is also from In the Stars set.

RECIPE:
Stamps: Pun Fun, In The Stars
Paper: Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi, Jersey Shore DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Bashful Blue, Basic Black
Access: SU! Markers: Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue; Wild Wasabi Ribbon, Dimensional Adhesive
Tools: 1/2" Circle Punch

Why No Posts?

I have been feeling bad for several days and having a tremendous amount of pain in my lower abdomen. I really wanted to be creative and stamp, but everytime I went to my stamp room the pain over took the creativity. So taking the advise of my ER physician husband and my nurse friends, I tried to take it easy and gets lots of rest. Well, last night at about midnight my temperature spiked to 102.7 and I was having tremors. My daughter just happened to be laying with me in bed and felt the bed shaking and immediately called her dad, who was still at work, and she drove me to the hospital. After 8 hours of IV fluids, pain medication and being put through every test imaginable....CAT scan, X-rays, Ultrasounds, blood cultures. It is an infection of an ovarian cyst. I was so scared that it was going to be something worse.

Don't give up, I will be posting something creative very soon!
